Matheson Red Modern Lightweight Tartan is a red-based tartan with shades of green and navy. Woven using 100% Pure New Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects.
The two main branches were Matheson of Shiness, in Sutherland, and Matheson of Lochalsh. There were other notable branches, including Bennetsfield in the Black Isle, Ross-shire. Sir Alexander Matheson, of the Lochalsh branch, became 1st Baronet of Lochalsh in 1882.
