While Stocks Last
MacKinlay Modern is a classic green-based tartan with shades of blue and a red overcheck. In Gaelic the name is MacFhionnlaigh, meaning "son of Finlay", or Finlayson. Little is known regarding them, but during the Irish "plantation" of the 17th century, some MacKinlays are said to have settled in Ulster where the name appears as MacGinlay. People of the name were fairly numerous in the Glasgow area and near Loch Lomond.
