Strome 16oz Tartan Fabric, sold by the metre.
Scrimgeour Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is an orange-based tartan with a contrasting blue check.
The name comes from Middle English, which derived from the Old French forms of Eskermisor, a fencer. During the war of independence, the Scrimgeour were confirmed as banner bearers by William Wallace and Parliament in 1298. In 1370 large amounts of land in Argyll came to the Scrimgeour family when Alexander Skrymsher/Scrimgeour married Agnes, heiress to Gilbert Glassary of the Ilk.
